Overseas Students: How to Apply

Please contact us by e-mail at info@aels.edu if you have any questions. Please send admission documents to admission@aels.edu. In order to be admitted to American English Language School, you must be over the age of 18 and have high school diploma (or the equivalent).
It is easy to do the entire visa application process on your own. You just have to follow the steps below:

Step 1: Submit the Documents

Submit the following documents to admission@aels.edu
        ● Complete AELS application form
        ● Copy of your current passport
        ● High School Diploma or College Transcripts (Proof of Highest Level of Education Completed)
        ● Certificate of bank balance of you or your sponsor. Balance must be in English and must be USD $26,400 or  more.

Step 2: Pay the Processing Fees

After you send all four documents (an AELS application form, a passport, a bank statement, and a high school diploma or equivalent), you will receive the acceptance email and bank information. You need to pay the processing fees: $500 (SEVIS I-901 Fee $350, AELS Application $100, Express Mailing $50)

Step 3: Receive I-20 Form by Express Mail

AELS will send an I-20 Form, I-901 (receipt of SEVIS payment), and the acceptance letter by international mail once the application form and required documents are received and the eligibility requirements are confirmed.

Step 4: Fill Out the DS 160 Form Online

Fill out the online nonimmigrant visa application. You will need your passport, I-20 Form, and information about the dates of your last five visits to the United States (if applicable).
You may also be asked for your previous work or education experience and your travel itinerary if you have already made travel arrangements. All answers on the DS-160 must be in English. Following your application, you will need to make an appointment for your visa interview with the U.S. embassy or consulate.

Step 5: Setting up Your Visa Interview

First, print your DS-160 form. It has an application number on it that you will need. You will also need your SEVIS ID #, which you can find on your I-20 form.
Second, set up your visa interview and pay your interview fee online. Each country has its own way to pay.
Third, once you have paid your interview fee, you will be able to make your appointment online through your country’s special link.

Step 6: Visa Interview

When you go to your visa interview appointment, make sure you bring all of the necessary documents:
          ●  Interview appointment letter from the National Visa Center (NVC)
          ●  Valid passport
          ●  Two color passport photographs (measuring 2 inches by 2 inches with a white background
          ●  I-20 Form
          ●  I-901 receipt
          ●  Bank statements
          ●  Confirmation of completed visa application
          ●  School admission letter

Step 7: Prepare for admission and entrance into the United States

If you are successful, you will be required to enter American English Language School and prepare for your stay in the United States (you must enter the US within 30 days of the start date of your I-20 Form). You should contact the us to discuss your start date, lodging/homestay, insurance, airport pickup, etc., and purchase your flight ticket. As soon as you arrive in the United States, you will immediately visit the American English Language School and discuss your needs for language education and student support services.

Step 8: After Coming to the US

Once you enter the United States, please report to American English Language School with your passport with your:
           ● F-1 visa
           ● Form I-94
           ● Form I-20 (will be stamped by immigration upon entering the US)
           ● Money for tuition and textbooks.
