Nearly every language school uses an agency to advertise and attract more students. These agencies create ads about the schools and send them around the world. This benefits the language schools by bringing in more paying customers, but it comes at a price. Most agencies charge an overwhelming amount of 20-30% commission. Not only that, but the more students they bring in, the larger their classes become. Here at Optimus Language School, we value quality over quantity. We keep our classroom ratio at a maximum of 8:1 students to teachers. This allows for more conversation practice and customized instruction to best fit the needs of students. We do not use an advertisement agency because we believe that the limited money and resources are better spent investing in our quality instruction.
You may be wondering, how do we spread the word about OLS? Well, we bypass the third party and do our own advertising. New technology and the growth of social media has made this possible. We believe in the quality of our programs, and we are always writing new blog posts to inform readers about our new features and promotions. We have dedicated translators who work hard to make these blog posts accessible to people in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Brazil, and more. We have found that people around the world searching for a language school will do a Google search and stumble across our website. They are able to read about our program through our blog and they even see our reviews on Yelp. They learn from our website that we take care of the F1 Visa application and I-20 form at no cost. They notice that we do not charge unnecessary fees and try to make the process as easy as possible for them. We hope it is evident that we truly care about our students and want to give them a great experience.
Beyond these advertising methods, we are very proud of our YouTube videos. We have a series of videos with real students and instructors having conversations about common English language misconceptions. These videos include popular Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, and Korean phrases and the English phrases that correspond. Our translators also work to post these videos on websites that are popular and accessible in those countries, such as Sina Weibo. The number of views on these videos grows more every day, and we are excited as the word is spread about Optimus Language School. Thanks to social media and our dedicated employees, we have found creative ways to tell the world about OLS while maintaining the integrity of our program and keeping classroom sizes small.
