Here at American English Language School, we offer a variety of courses that a student may take. The first option is our ESL classes. Our ESL class consists of 6 different levels and covers reading, writing, grammar, and conversation. The goal of this class is to be able to communicate comfortably in all areas of English, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. At the end of each level, you will take the level test; if this test is passed, you will move to the next level. At the end of the level 6, you will receive a certificate of completion.
Another option AELS offers is our TOEIC program. This program is a 12-week intensive course that gives students an overview of the test, along with ample opportunities to practice test-taking strategies for both tests. The third option is our TOEFL program. This program is a 12-week intensive course that reviews the structure of the trial, all four skill areas (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), and useful techniques to help you achieve your desired score.
We also offer a class for the citizenship/naturalization test. Students will learn how to fill out their Form N-400 and discuss their answers in a mock interview. They will also practice reading and writing sentences in English to fulfill the reading and writing requirements. Finally, they will study all 100 Civics Questions and take practice tests on the information learned.
AELS also offers supplemental classes not included in any of our extensive programs. These include daily journal writing to improve your writing and grammar skills. We have book club sessions where students may read, discuss books to practice the understanding of English text. The third class offered is the TED talk class and this class allows students to practice their listening skills and vocabulary. Lastly, we offer private lessons. This class option offers a one-to-one ratio between the student and the instructor.
