Our summer/winter program is a 4-8-week course that will immerse students under the age of 18 in American culture. Students will learn various topics while being able to practice their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. For the first three hours, they will be in a classroom with a maximum of 8 students per class. They will learn about American history, education, and famous landmarks while also going over reading, writing, and grammar. Every day after their classes, all students will have an hour lunch break at a nearby park where they can eat, play, and socialize with others. After lunch, our international students will be combined with students (who are born and raised in the USA) from our sister company’s program for presentation, science, and cooking class.
Your children will be learning and working with local children of their own age. Being surrounded by native English speakers will help your children to improve their vocabulary immensely by exposing them to new words, idioms, dialects, and slang. Talking about a variety of topics with native English speakers will expand their vocabulary, improve their pronunciation, and help improve their grammar in a more interactive way than just memorizing a textbook. During these afternoon classes, students will work together in groups to complete their projects. This will give them plenty of opportunities to practice and improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Every week, there is a new theme where students learn about a new topic, such as Authors, Superheroes, and The Wild West. For our presentation class, students will learn about the weekly topic and create their own posters related to the topic. Students will work together to create their poster and then present it to the class. This a great opportunity for your child to practice their speaking and presentation skills while showing their understanding of the topic.
They will be in an encouraging environment to help them not feel shy or embarrassed speaking in front of others. They will also have fun learning about science and eating delicious and creative foods in cooking class.
