An English learning experience is one thing, but a safe learning environment is another. Not only do we care about having the best ESL program but also genuinely concerned about the safety of our students. Every teacher that teaches in AELS must pass a rigorous screening and background check. This means that any ESL teacher must get fingerprinted at a government-approved fingerprinting facility—it grants AELS access to any applicant’s criminal history or lack thereof.
We determine whether he or she has clearance from both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It is crucial that every single teacher at AELS must go through a live screening test. We invest a lot of time checking our employees. The same effort we invest in our curriculums and programs is the same rigorous effort we put in ensuring our student’s safety.
It takes time and work to thoroughly check every single one but this is the primary reason why other Language school programs don’t require such as task. Many of them are not inclined to make their applicants go through a background check because of the hefty amount of time and resources it takes to get it done. We do not compromise safety—that’s not who we are.
