Finals Week

The 11th week of our ESL program is finals week. During this week, students will review what they have learned through the last half of the quarter, and on Friday, they will take their final exam. All week, students will review through discussions, worksheets, games, and other activities to review what they have learned. Through the last four weeks, students have gone over various topics to help them to improve their English. 

The first topic that students reviewed was health. During this week, students went over the different parts of the body, how to identify and describe symptoms, how to read nutrition labels, and how to distinguish between good and bad health habits. 

Next, students went over how to get hired for a job and how to be a good employee.

Teachers first focused on what to do when you are looking for a job like the various job titles, the skills needed to obtain those jobs, how to read job advertisements, how to complete a job application, and interview tips. Then students went over important information to know after you have been hired to a job like attitudes of good and bad employees, how to read pay stubs, understanding job benefits, and how to communicate at work. 

Lastly, students went over civics and community resources. They reviewed the United States' geographical locations, the different branches of the government, and how to express their opinions.  

The goal of American English Language School is to help students who want to learn English be comfortable reading, writing listening, and speaking in English. This way, students will be able to live, work, or study in an English-speaking environment. Furthermore, if you want to improve your English, you will need to work hard and practice. That is why our small group classes will help you more than other language schools. Our smaller class sizes help students to feel comfortable participating, make it easier to ask for help from your teacher, and make it more manageable for teachers to see who might need some extra help.
