Every week, students go over a new topic related to living, studying, or working in the United States. Our ESL program includes English conversation speaking, listening, writing, grammar, and reading. Students will be placed at their appropriate level and throughout our 12-week course, students will work to improve these skills.
This past week, students focused on the different types of goals people can have, obstacles that get in the way of these goals, and solutions to overcome the obstacles. Do you know what the three different types of goals are?
The first type of goal is a personal goal. This means something you want to accomplish for yourself. This could be anything you want it to be. A common goal people have is to eat healthier, lose weight, save money, or learn a new skill.
The second type of goal is an educational goal. This type of goal is something you wish to accomplish related to education. It could be to get straight A’s, get into a good college, or get a degree.
The last type of goal is a work goal. This could be any type of thing you wish to happen related to getting a certain type of job or accomplishing something at your current workplace. A common work goal is to get a promotion or get a higher-paying job.
Teachers also went over obstacles and solutions. Obstacles can be anything that gets in the way of you accomplishing your goals. Some common obstacles people have are not having enough time or lack of money.
Lastly, students went over solutions. When people have obstacles trying to stop them from completing their goals, they will need to think of solutions to overpower the obstacles and finish their goals.
In our ESL program, students will cover various topics each week! If you are thinking of enrolling in an ESL course in the Los Angeles or Orange County area, visit our website https://www.aels.edu or email info@aels.edu today!
